As most of us know that until some time ago, Facebook was no more than a relatively exclusive closed community whose principal focus was on high school and college going students - particularly in the USA, however, over the past years Facebook is found making dramatic changes to its way of operation. Most of these changes have been acknowledged worldwide and have made Facebook make millions, though there are ones with less influence too. However, one thing that is beyond question is the fact that any of the alterations have widely changed the way in which Facebook community work.
The changes made by this social media giant have failed to gain much popularity both with the existing and new community members. As a result, these changes to their worst have brought Facebook owners into great conflicts with tens of thousands of community members that are outspoken in nature!

Such a strict response has at least
demonstrated one thing that almost every user on Facebook is highly protective
about their social community, they definitely can’t bear that their online
social information is turning vulnerable or more and more open than ever before
– no matter the ones doing so are the real Facebook owners.
Everyone who signs up and uses Facebook
with their best interest is extremely defensive about the information they have
shared on what they believe to be a social community ‘they own’, and they are
less concerned with the elements behind this perceived threat.
If you are a corporate businessman and
are ready to invest in Facebook marketing to make good money from your
investment on your business, it is very essential for you and other local or
global businesses to be familiar with the community members at Facebook to be
effective in dealing with them. For a teaser – we would like to tell you that
they all are different.
Facebook community members believe that
the online social community they belong to is quite different and by many means
better than others – yes, even MySpace.
A marketer should never take this study
on the behavior of Facebook users for granted. You must note that holding a
rebellious nature, 90 percent of the Facebook users would not let businesses to
penetrate their community with the motive of brandishing promotions right in
their face.
We will further discuss this with a few
evidences in the later paragraphs, which will help you realize that every
seventh Facebook community member keeps high opinion of his or her principles,
aspirations and self-worth. So, if you are a marketing manager of any firm and
your firm is planning to invest in social media marketing, particularly
Facebook, the above-mentioned factors must never be ignored by you. If you
choose not to consider these, your efforts might only be subject to doom.
In other words, if you really want to
give months of your efforts and thousands of your company’s bucks a chance to
succeed with marketing over Facebook, it is vital for you to comprehend
community members’ (that are also human beings like you) attitude and behavior.
Surely, because they are the ones you will be dealing with.
In the initial stages, Facebook was no
more than a private online members club where the members were mostly students
of higher levels of education.
This could be the fact that still today
a majority of Facebook users are highly educated, and let’s not forget, highly
critical too. These people are ones who own within them the strength and pluck
of character to keep questioning what is not so easy for them to believe.
On the other hand, if we specifically talk about the members
who are new to Facebook (where new means younger than 5 years on Facebook) have
said to change changing the previous demographics. Nevertheless, talking about
the Facebook of today, an 'average' community member is not someone you can
easily turn into a customer; even Mark Zuckerberg has found out the same!
