Search engine friendly SEO optimized article writing is never an easy job for newbies. But it can be quite easy if you know basic SEO article writing techniques. Here are some of the basic SEO article writing tips for newbies:

 Keyword Research

The very first thing that you need to do is Keyword research. You can simply sign up for Google Adwords Keyword Research tool and find lots of keyword suggestions for the site you are planning to write some SEO friendly articles. Beside Google adwords keyword research tool, you will find plenty of other source of competitive and low competitive keywords say for example LSI keywords. You should always concentrate on low competition keywords to have easy traffic to your blog or website. Because if you start with highly competitive keywords, you will not have even a single visitor on your site by chance. But low competitive keywords may take your blog or website to the first page of Google or other search engines in a couple of days only. Once your blog has a number of pages on top search ranks on related keywords, you can slowly move to highly competitive keywords to have a better overall page rank. 

Focus on only one or two Keywords Per Article

Many people make mistake by focusing on so many keywords in a single article. But the key is to use only one or two keywords. Use the following guideline to have a better search rank on major search engines:

1. Use "the Main Keyword" at the beginning of your article title.  If you can't  use it at the beginning, at least, use it once in your article title.

2. Use the main  keyword in the very first sentence of your article. If not possible, use it in the first paragraph. 

3. Use the keyword in the last sentence or final  para of your article. Make sure you use the keyword in the middle of your article couple of times too.

4. Make the overall keyword density of the article between 2-3% of total number of words. 

5. Your article needs to be at least 300 words in length. 

6. Use subheadings in your article. If possible, use the main keyword in subheadings too. If not possible, use some other keywords that are closely related with your main keyword.

7. Find one or more relevant picture and add them into your article. Make sure you mention the source of the pictures on your article. 

8. Above all, make your article flawless in terms of grammar, spelling, standard of language. Use only reliable information because you want your readers to come back to your site or blog again and again. Always think about your readers, what they want to find? what may interest them etc.

9. Putting tags, meta tags etc is very much important to make your article visible to search engines.

10.  Don't forget to review and edit your article for couple of times yourself and ask another friend or colleague to check the article for you.
